Stewart is a former Ministerial Adviser, speechwriter, journalist, and communications consultant. Stewart has an BA (Hons) and MA from the University of Tasmania, where he researched the relationship between regional identity and regional economic development. He also is the President of the Men & Family Centre – a community-based organisation in the NSW Northern Rivers dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence.
